Introduction
Originally, the management of the affairs of the Regimental
Association was vested in the Central Committee, which was
based in Harare. After Independence however, as membership
within Zimbabwe dwindled, and as membership of the virtually
autonomous external Branches increased as Association members
left the country and joined external branches, the need for
the control exercised by the Central Committee fell away.
Amendments to the Constitution were approved at the Central
Committee Annual General Meeting held in Harare on the 1st
June 2007 that effectively handed over control of the Regimental
Association to its individual branches worldwide. That which
was the Central Committee was reduced in size, and remains
available in a purely advisory capacity. Thus the Central
Advisory Committee came into being.
