Death: William John Maxwell ‘Bill’ or ‘Jock’ Crossan 4988
Dick Glanville regrets to advise the recent death of Jock
Crossan on 28 October 2011 in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Jock attested into the BSA Police in October 1952. He joined
the Criminal Investigation Department, where he was to spend
most of his career, early in his service. Jock was promoted
to Detective Inspector in 1962 and during the turbulent decade
that followed he played a legendary role in the detection
of sabotage and violent crime in then Salisbury. He was the
recipient of the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in 1974
(post service). Jock retired from the force in December 1972
with the rank of Detective Chief Inspector. He was a member
of the Transvaal Branch. Our thoughts and condolences go out
to his wife, Grace, family and friends, to whom we extend
our deepest sympathy.

Death:
Harvey Francis Otto Wilhelm 6271
Peter Bellingham regrets to advise the recent death of Harvey
Wilhelm on 10 October 2011 in Cape Town, South Africa. Harvey
joined the BSA Police in January 1961 and served first in
Matabeleland. He was a member of the Support Unit during the
latter years of his service. Harvey was the recipient of a
PSLM in 1981, shortly before he retired from the force in
June 1982 with the rank of Chief Inspector. Our thoughts and
condolences go out to his wife, Jill, family and friends,
to whom we extend our deepest sympathy.

Death: David John ‘Dave’ Tunney 7120
Dick Glanville regrets to advise the recent death of David Tunney on 1 October 2011 in Pretoria, South Africa. Dave joined the BSA Police in July 1964 and served first in northern Matabeleland. He retired from the force in June 1980 with the rank of Inspector. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy.

Death: Angela Elizabeth ‘Angie’ Boothway (Nee Hay)WP314
I regret to advise the recent death of Angie Boothway on 5 June 2011 in Triangle, Zimbabwe. Angie joined the BSA Police in January 1976 and served until August 1978 when she left the force with the rank of Woman Patrol Officer. Our thoughts and condolences go out to her family and friends, to whom we extend our deepest sympathy.
