Function: New Zealand AGM: 5 June 2021

The New Zealand Regimental Association held its Annual General Meeting on 5 June 2021 at the Silverdale RSA, Auckland, New Zealand.   Like a few other branches, this was the first AGM held since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions. The AGM had limited numbers in attendance, 18 in total.  The Chairman’s Report and that of the Treasurer were adopted by the meeting.   The Chairman’s report may be seen in the latest edition of the Kiwi Outpost.

Sadly, the entire Executive and the current Committee of the NZ branch had previously indicated their intentions of resigning/retiring, and there was no commitment from Members to fill any of the positions.  It was pointed out by the Chairman, that the situation could not remain. A course of action to either Wind up the Branch or to consider other options was necessary.  Reasons for this, Age, Ill Health, Location and the aspect of not wanting more responsibilities as we grow older.

Regrettably, the Association shall dissolve and move from being a regulated Regimental Association to becoming a “Fellowship of members” of former BSA Police members of the force and associated persons,  with social contacts and gatherings being the aim.

A date for a “Special General Meeting” will be presented in due course by the winding up executive in accordance with NZ Branch Bye-Law 2011/No.8, Dissolution.
