The history of the British South Africa Police has many characters, some of whom rose to the top, others who were honoured and decorated and many hundreds who answered the call in conflict. The author has a special interest in the genealogy of the force and has researched many family histories of this great force. This page serves to link the view to various thematic listings of former member biographies and where found their families.
Much work concerning the family histories of force members is now in the public domain, a principle source being the Outpost Magazine. The BSA Police WikiTree Project has been implemented to expand on the information presently contained in the Roll of Honour, Medal Rolls and the Nominal Rolls of the BSA Police and successor forces. The original Roll of Honour was only intended as a listing. The WikiTree initiative now adds to and publishes more information drawn from several sources. The project will be extended to the BSA Police civilian deaths Roll in due course. WikiTree is an ancestry site concerned with family history and, thus, family of those on the BSA Police Roll of Honour are encouraged to participate in the project, with photographs, more details and links to other members of the family. Former members may also volunteer their assistance.
